Yesterday, the Section of Emergency Medicine president @PfParks sent a letter to @jkenney and @JasonCoppingAB to invite them to tour an Edmonton area ICU, so they can see first-hand how overstretched the system has become.

After serial crises, it’s human nature to reset expectations and find a new “normal.” A reason why humans are resilient.
I hope we differentiate between resilience and acceptance however.
Preventable death, pain and suffering should never be acceptable.

When people write about this #COVID19 pandemic years from now, I wonder if they’ll reflect on how much of the death, pain and suffering was unnecessary if we’d just done what we needed to do instead of what we wanted.

We need action.
We need a Firebreak NOW.
We can’t continue to ask for more and more resources without stopping the rampant transmission that is continuing to lead to hospitalizations.
Every day we wait is a day of more Albertans dying.
