Took a wander up to the monument commemorating the wonderfully named Onesiphorus Tyndall Bruce, hereditary keeper of Falkland Palace, 1828, and the laird who first afforested the Lomond Hills. I like the dedication to the #foresters who followed in his footsteps.

Freestanding piece of bark from the inward side that would have been facing the tree. The tree is gone the bark remains. There’s a reddish structure midway up the picture. I’m not sure what it is, but it looks like it was part of the tree or maybe a vine at the tree grew into.
