(사진=윤새) 곡은 일렉트로 팝을 기반으로, 스스로 만든 망상 속에 상대를 가두려 하는 화자의 내면을 따라간다. 6/8 박자의 느린 템포 위에 묵직한 신스 베이스가 중심을 잡고, 피치카토 스트링이 리듬을 쌓아 올리며 긴장을 유지한다. 사운드의 골격 위로는 겉으로는 부드럽게 들리지만 속에는 서늘함을 머금은 분위기가 얹힌다. 다정한 음색과 집착을 드러내는 가사가 맞물리면서, ‘잔혹동화’라는 표현에 걸맞은 대비가 만들어진다. 영상 작업에서도 이러한 방향이 이어진다. 함께 선보이는 뮤직비디오는 곡이 담은 집착의 정서를 시각적으로 넓혀가는 구성으로, 화자의 감정이 극에 달한 순간 자신의 광기에 잠식돼 코피를 흘리는 장면이 포함돼 있다. 이 장면은 그간 윤새가 보여주지 않았던 새로운 이미지를 보여주는 대목이다. 시네마틱한 화면 구성과 시각적으로는 아름다운 미장센 속에서 긴장감이 공존하도록 설정돼, 음악이 가진 불안한 기운을 화면으로 옮겨 놓는다. 윤새는 이번 작업에 대해 “일방적인 사랑이 어디까지 비틀릴 수 있는지 상상하며 만든 이야기”라고 설명했다. 이어 “겉보기에는 사랑 노래처럼 들리지만, 듣다 보면 불안하고 섬뜩한 느낌이 들었으면 했어요.”라고 말하며 곡이 지향하는 분위기를 짚었다. 그간 윤새는 EP [flowerain], [when the stars align]을 통해 EDM과 청아한 보컬의 결합을 계속 선보여 왔다. 일렉트로니카 기반 사운드 위에 선명한 보컬을 얹는 작업을 이어오며 자신만의 색을 쌓아 온 셈이다. 대표곡 ‘데리러 가(DRRG)’로는 빌보드 재팬 TikTok 차트에 이름을 올렸고, 해외 iTunes 차트 상위권에 진입하며 해외 리스너들에게도 존재를 알렸다. 온라인 플랫폼을 중심으로 점차 청자 저변을 넓혀 온 흐름이다. 무대에서도 행보를 이어갔다. 2025년 펜타포트 락 페스티벌 ‘슈퍼루키’ TOP 10에 선정되며 라이브 아티스트로서의 가능성을 드러낸 바 있다. 페스티벌 무대를 통해 일렉트로 사운드를 현장 에너지로 연결하는 시도도 병행해 왔다. 이번 ‘Forevermore’는 이런 활동을 거쳐온 윤새가 집착과 사랑이 맞닿는 지점을 전면으로 끌어올린 작업으로 자리한다. 신곡은 27일 오후 6시부터 멜론, 애플뮤직, 스포티파이 등 국내외 주요 음원 플랫폼에서 들을 수 있다.

Whitesnake – ‘Forevermore (Revisited, Remixed, Remastered)’ (2025) – Box Set (The David Coverdale Series) ‘Forevermore’ was originally released on March 9, 2011 and in modern Whitesnake times, a 3 year gap is like a week as the gap between ‘Good to Be Bad’ and the previous studio album was 11 years.
