Testing gaussian splats as an alternative to regular photogrammetry for reflective objects which usually require a lot of geometry cleanup or a more involved camera/lighting setup.
While some parts came out better, there's still an obvious issue with the reflections. Bummer.

I tried the XGrids Lixel L2 Pro thanks to skytech-drones-inc and XGrids. This LiDAR-based scanner is quite impressive. Here is a capture, rendered as 3D Gaussian splats, of the staircase of our building I captured while going up the levels.

Finally looking @ #IntoTheScaniverse by #Niantic! Stoked that they've created a lightweight, functional & polished web-based viewer for #GaussianSplats. It's great to pull up my scans of places & look at them in 1st person. I can look at the detail inside of these arcade machines at human scale now.
