The Hermitage in Dunkeld in Autumn 2025. The water was low in the wee pools, so i climbed up a little to get a viewpoint, looking back towards the famous viewpoint at the Hermitage. With water flows over the rocks and little golden leaves dotted about the foreground.

Good day folks, a quick phone edit of an image taken up in Dunkeld today. I love taking long exposures of the leaves floating by in the river. A wee bit of motion from the trees, but I dont mind that. These trees below still have a bit of changing to do.

As the sun sets on the Mirrorman sculpture up at St Fillans, overlooking Lochearnhead. The sun was lighting up the surrounding hills and the golden trees. The water looked calm due to long exposure, which has smoothen out the water ripples. The sun sparkling on the Mirrormans armour as the light begins to fade. With warming tones throughout the scene. It was a pure magical moment to be there.

A sunset image looking towards Bass rock from Seacliff Beach. The sunset gives the overall image a peachy colour, with warming tones. I got low down to capture the ripples in the sand to add to the foreground. Some water remains between tge ripples which has the sky reflecting in perfectly.

The blue give the image a summer feel, but i can tell you, it wasn't that warm. But being typically Scottish, I was still in my shorts.

With the summer feels almost gone, I popped down the coast last week and captured some seascape images from seacliff Beach looking over to bass rock. However, the blues gave it a summer feel, but it was still rather chilly.

A coastal scene photographed in Gullane, no direct light, so there is a blue tone to the image. A lomg exposure was used to smoothen out the water over the loose stones, a wee hint of colour from some vibrant seaweed in the foreground. More drama to the scene due to a rather moody cloud band above. Which makes for a fairly dramatic seascape scene.
A seascape image captured in Gullane, a small burst of golden light, has lightened up the scene overall. I used a long exposure to smoothen out the water over the rocks. It doesn't feel as dramatic to me as the blue toned previous version, but it is still a dramatic seascape capture.
These two images were taken on the same evening down in Gullane, slightly different shots, but it shows the difference a blast of light from the sun can do. I prefer the more blue toned one, but like both in their own way. Which is your favourite?
