The centerpiece containing the Fire Staff has been redesigned from an "alien vat" style machine to a simpler design inspired by an Aztec sacrificial altar, matching with the Mesoamerican motifs of #KatFS

While Kalia's abilities are limited to fire magic, other elements can influence both herself and her enemies, with their interactions either hindering or benefitting her in combat! 🔥

Spent some time revising the status effects in #KatFS and their interactions. Mostly streamlining them so that they're simpler - the "wet" status now gets cleared instantly by any instance of fire damage rather than being gradually removed, for example.

A major theme of Kalia's tale will be her giving Terra's society a second chance after their first encounter with a demon out of hell went poorly.
Obviously, this hinges on whether the people of Terra can learn to do better and accept her into said society.

The "Trial Chambers" gameplay flow is complete! From the main menu, through the rounds (only one in the clip for testing) all the way to the end results and back to the Main Menu (or starting another run) 🔥
All it needs now is a full set of 6 rounds 😈

Before picture, walls are uniform due to having only a single sprite for each modular piece.
After picture, walls have some variance as each modular piece can have varied sprites with cracks, wear and dislocated bricks.
The importance of some tile randomization to make an environment feel more natural. 😈
Last week I've implemented some bespoke tile randomization systems and have been applying them to the existing levels.
