Things ... didn't work out as Dems hoped, though. The GOP nominated Amodei instead of the one-and-only Sharron Angle, and he went on to an easy 22-point win. #NV02 has remained deep red ever since, but that 2008 election was still something else!
Here's something awesome from our deep, deep archives related to Mark Amodei's retirement. In 2011, Dems hoped to flip #NV02 in a special election, even though it was a longtime GOP bastion. A key reason: John McCain *barely* won the district in 2008. How close was it? *88 votes*!
While I’m newer to posting on here… definitely need to take a moment to celebrate this headline. However, the damage. He was a big piece in deciding the ICE budget, the Mining Regulatory Clarity Act is still pending, tax write offs for mines, and 9 years of no town halls. Wonder why… #NV02 #Amodei
