BREAKING: A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck central #Ethiopia on Friday. The earthquake struck near #Oromia with a population of nearly half a million, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.

New Video Shows Ethiopian Soldiers Executing Youth
Ironically, on the 4th anniversary of the Mahbere Dego massacre, where #Ethiopian soldiers filmed themselves executing dozens of civilians in #Tigray, another video has surfaced showing members of the ENDF killing an unarmed youth in #Oromia.
As of January 11, UN OCHA reports two injuries from seismic activity in Ethiopia. Over 60,000 people have been evacuated, including 51,456 in #Afar and 20,325 in #Oromia. Emergency shelters are in place, with 16 schools severely damaged and 21 partially affected.
Despite fragmenting insurgencies in the #Amhara and #Oromia regions, there remains little prospect of comprehensive peace deals in #Ethiopia, where Prime Minister #AbiyAhmed is set to increasingly rely on repression to maintain his grip on power.
