Alright, the #PBTA that started it all! #ApocalypseWorld (Burned Over). A post-apocalyptic wasteland filled with danger, ridiculousness, grasping connections and maybe bits of hope occasionally. We leaned right into the vibes, playing something a bit Mad Max, a bit Borderlands, a bit Fallout

The balance of high intensity robot battles, interpersonal moments and galactic conflict is immaculately preserved without forsaking a fast and smooth #PBTA simplicity. I tweaked the setting a bit and ran a space fantasy-sci-fi #FFVI inspired setting and we had an absolute blast. Eager to play again
So I slept on #CityofMist for a while but now that I've run it I love the system. The way it innovates on conflicting identities in a #TTRPG is just absolutely top notch. A character is 4 themes (a spread of supernatural and mundane) each with tags that can be applied to appropriate rolls ⬇️

Been a minute but #HeartsofWulin is still one of my fave #PBTA. Wuxia, high wire, high drama. The system did a great job of pulling all the players into the genre even if they didn't have media touchstones for it
It did a great job on onboarding how their characters should relate to the world

Working on my Renegade Nell #PbtA, I'm aiming for a Brindlewood Bay style, but everything focused on the monster the PCs are facing. They collect evidence from incident scenes, witnesses and skirmishes with the monster to define it's form and behaviour, including strengths and weaknesses. #ttrpg

My current #ttrpg obsession is making a #PbtA inspired by Renegade Nell, the Disney+ series from 2024. I didn't want to be making this, but the idea fermented in my subconconscious and forced it's way out.
A great week of gaming came together: I played Pasión de las Pasiones on Tuesday, Star Trek: Away Missions on Wednesday, and Planet of the Week on Thursday (my first time as a player!) then I GMed a PotW one shot on Friday. Whew! #TTRPG #PbtA #StarTrek
