Trevor’s Gran: Wide-Eyed Trevor, pt 4
Where we are now
My grandmother discovered
While keeping out of range
Of her father’s anger
Larkin was right about parents
And my great-granddad
Was a prime example
He was a lay preacher
Something of a chancer
Something of an entrepreneur
Something of a guru
Had followers before social media
Was even thought of
My gran was not a believer
Often there was conflict
Often she had to get away
And the walls between worlds
Are thin as curtains round here
And sometimes thinner
So she hid behind them a lot
Until he found her here
And saw an opportunity
Land
Ripe for development
