Iran has not purchased ANY weapons from the U.S. since 1979 following the overthrow of the fucking #Shah, who the #UnitedStates put into power. Bullshit monarchy.
Reagan did allow sales to Iran in 1985 with #IranContraAffair as payment for U.S. hostages in #Lebanon.
Within that system, #Israel did not emerge as a puppet-master, nor as an accident. It became an organic extension of a US-led order.
The real question, then, is why Israel - and not #Egypt, #SaudiArabia, #Syria, or even #Iran under the #Shah?
