March 19 1947 – Sportsmaster debuts in All-American Comics #85 (cover dated May 1947).

He was created by writer John Broome and artist Irwin Hasen. He was the only one to take down the original Green Lantern. He waylaid him in an alley, hitting him with a baseball bat.
