Always play 5 groove on 8 + 3. trait is very strong now and much cheaper than anything stronger, especially on 8.
One of your units will always be Lulu/Panth/Liss that determines rest of your board.

Part of Set 17's comeback mechanic: Pengu will offer better rewards the lower your current placement in the lobby. If players are already out, your placement is relative to the new bottom. E.g. if 1 player is dead, then 6th/7th will be offered the 5-costs on Stage 4.

Brawler is Set 17's equivalent to Bruiser from Set 16. However, it is much weaker, ESPECIALLY in the early game: 1. The two piece trait giving less to Brawlers 2. The teamwide gain breaks even at 3000 HP, while most of your units only have less than 1/3 that amount early.

I've seen a lot of the discussion of loss streak focused on Pengu + PVE Anvils vs. carousel priority Loss streak is MUCH better in S17 because instead of spending 8 gold inefficiently on 4 for Caretaker on 2-3, 2 Timebreaker gives the same effect that you can get on 2-1
