Film poster for Wild at Heart (1990). Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern stand close together in front of a dark car against a dramatic sunset sky. Dern wears a bright pink dress and looks to the side while Cage faces forward in a black T-shirt. Text at the top reads “A Wild Ride and a Must See!” and “Winner Best Picture Cannes Film Festival 1990.” The title “David Lynch’s Wild at Heart” appears in bold pink lettering across the centre.
I respect David Lynch more than I’ve enjoyed most of his films. For me this was one of the good ones, arriving just as he suddenly had a much bigger audience — fresh off the Palme d’Or at Cannes and with Twin Peaks becoming a huge hit on television.
