A pic of a Sholes & Glidden typewriter (as it was called) when it debuted in 1874. It's cool looking, a black typewriter with various yellow flower designs on the front & sides and a cover that goes over the keyboard for when it's not in use.

1968: THE TYPEWRITER IS PATENTED: Although various designs had existed for 150 yrs, Samuel Soule, Carlos Glidden, & Christopher Latham Sholes of Wisconsin designed the first "typewriter" with the QWERTY keyboard we use today. 1/2
