Silent Twilight Wave
As colours fade from the sky
The seething ocean
Comes to silent rest,
One final wave crashes
echoing across the barren lands
of her heart.
The taste of salt on her lips
she softly whispers,
Bidding farewell
to the last breath of wind
that dances and dangles
delicately brushing her golden curls.
There’s moisture in her eyes
it’s probably the sea spray;
Nay, it is not,
When she looks at the infinite horizon
she cannot lie.
The night slowly falls
as a curtain of darkness
that shrouds everything in colourless stillness.
The remembrance of the last twilight ray
the way it made her gaze sparkle
lingers, a green emerald light within.
She faithfully smiles
Dawn is nearby.
Happy to announce that one of my poems, "Silent Twilight Wave" has been published by Prosetrics, literary magazine in the Netherlands.
I hope that this is only the beginning!
