Blue states need to get their act together w/ housing infill & medical care in rural areas (including specialists) b/c more of us r leaving purple states we tried out. The CO state leg trying to ban trans kids from sports says they r #ableists & anti-science. U can be cis & understand these issues
Born disabled w progressive issues. Started using mobility tools in my 40s (but I looked 30). Dealt quite a bit w/the ignorance of #ableists, especially in NYC. I was often accused of lying bcz was 'too young' to actually need my aid & need a seat on the train/bus. In a better place now
(2/2) described by RFK Jr. absolutely exist and are still part of our community that should not get left behind or institutionalized or slandered by #ableists. Autism is not a disability, but folx with autism can absolutely have disabilities (Me!).
All humans can be #disabled.
Essentially, #DisabilityTax. Our lives are so much more expensive than our healthy counterparts. #Pricegouging exists for the disabled every day and no one bats an eye but if it happened to #ableists, there'd be an uproar bigger than ours.
And all of that puts it 100% on the disabled not holding ANY accountability on businesses who discriminate against those who DO/can work. #Ableists are hypocritical
And then be turned around and be called "lazy" and "abusing the system"...that #ableists created!
