Walk softly as you approach
Accepting darkness as a must
Inhale the scented turmoil
While torture's prison turns
Shift around what makes sense

As a child we fear its intrusion
but with growing enlightenment
we accept its calling
no more dark whispers in the night
no hidden shadows leaping out
sleep slowly wanders in
our minds more restful

This morning,
I thought a new thought.
My pastor explained
that even Jesus reincarnated
still with wounds from his crucifixion.
Who am I
to wait for old wounds to heal
before allowing myself
to rise.

The Tao says
the two sides
opposing and defining
are part of the whole

The light is everlasting
but to accept both sides
means you must be
