At lower right a blue-and-orange symbol indicates the location of Ballicaoluk. At middle left, bordering a body of water that widens and clearly continues off the map to the west, is the label "Izmir". Other readable labels, in clockwise order, are: Karşıaka, Bornova, Buca, Zafermah, Belenbaşı, and Gaziemir. At lower left, there is a scale bar labeled "5 km", which permits the viewer to estimate that the map covers an area measuring approximately 35 kilometers by 35 kilometers.

The terrain is mountainous, and a portion of a large river snakes across the map from middle right to center bottom. Labels for "Sinicik" (upper middle) and Kâhta (near center) can be read. A bright blue line starts near the upper left portion of the map and runs eastward to near the middle before turning south-southeastward to eventually end in the large river at lower right. Partway along this clue line a large orange dot and smaller green bow-tie symbol can be seen, but they are not labeled.
