Dinky little long eared bat thought he'd found a great winter roost behind a disused loo at a heritage site in Cumbria. He was unexpectedly uncovered during work, came into care for a check up and added 20% to his weight in two days. Such a sweetie, he goes home tonight. #lovebats #batcare 🦇🥰

As winter approaches, bats are less active but our team doesn't rest as long as there are bats that need help. This tiny bat found on rail platform, caked in black grease and very weak. Heartbreaking. Seen too many catted bats in my short time as an ambulance driver for South Lancs Bat Group.
I also have a cat. She is an indoor cat. The least people can do is keep cats in overnight (from just before dusk) - it is safer for them too as most cat RTAs happen at night. #batcare
