Heart shaped appliqué made from scraps of red, brown, white, and black fabric. It is stitched together using white thread with small stitches across the entire piece in horizontal rows.

Normally I'd hand hem curves for more control but between bias tape, walking foot and pressing this came out acceptably tidy (and didn't take a million years)

Proper technique is to have someone mark the hem while it's on you, but I don't generally need to adjust front vs. back length on my skirts so I'm cheating! Measuring from the waistband to even up where the bias stretched

Soaking and hanging to get any stretch out of the bias. It's a tight woven poly suiting so it might not even stretch but better to be safe than find out you have an uneven hem after you've done 6 yards of hemming

Almost an entire skirt! I'll be getting bias tape for the hem next weekend (a must for circle hems) so I'll leave it to hang and stretch out until then.
Originally I thought to chop this to below the knee but I'm liking the midi. What do you think?

Pocket! Not sure if it's good for anything heavy with the fullness of the skirt but the anchorage to waistband should help.
I enjoy documenting my builds because I tend to forget that the unnecessary details take time and wonder why it's taking me so long to make one skirt 😅
