The good news for @mattermost.bsky.social as a #communitycomms app is it's more accessible than it sounds for small organizations, coops and communities. You can run it on something as simple as a low-cost VPS with minimal technical help or got to www.pikapods.com and select #Mattermost.
I installed #Mattermost on the cheapest #Hetzner cloud server. I found it to be quite similar to #Slack, with a much more intuitive UI than #RocketChat. So far, it's working perfectly.
All of these solutions are much better than #Teams, which I find terrible for written communication.

So I stood up a Mattermost instance for customer notifications. TrueNAS made it simple, and my Virtualmin+NetBird setup makes it easy to expose it to the world. I'll probably keep this setup until TrueNAS gets generic webhook alert support.
