If that is one of your concerns then you might perhaps lobby #Ofgem to get them to reverse the roll out of ‘smart meters’.
Maybe also consider the Proliferation of geo-fencing ‘smart home’ devices. Perhaps Starmer should ban these devises made by such as - Apple, Google, Phillips, Xiaomi etc?

The rules / requirements for becoming an electricity supplier are set within existing legislation & regulatory ‘codes’. The decision to grant licences sits with #Ofgem.

Good news for heat network customers. As of 27th Jan, they will be protected from unfair energy price hikes, thanks to new rules that mean heat networks will now be regulated by Ofgem.
