#Academic #medicine has had pipeline problem for long time. Younger #physicians do not want to go into #academics. They make twice as much money in #privatepractice (my dad likes to remind me my cousin, exactly my age and graduated #medschool later than me, is already equity partner in her practice)

I just don't see any ability to do things that I enjoy doing that don't make $$ anywhere else. Every medical system has financial challenges, including other academic centers, and yeah, I absolutely would not make it at "eat what you kill" #privatepractice, especially not one owned by #privateequity

I just looked at my #RVU dashboard and...good thing I'm salaried 😂 (even my best month this fiscal year, I was at about 15% of the monthly targets)
I wouldn't survive in #privatepractice.
I'm just not doing much clinical work this year, and I probably chronically underbill too 🤦‍♀️ cuz...I don't care
