A speculative evolution illustration of two silverfish, one of the speculative king silverfish (Lepisma gigas) and the actual (house) silverfish (Lepisma saccharinum) for comparison. The king silverfish is chewing wood with its mandibles and is about 4-5 cm long (1.5-2 inches).
The Silverfish (called the king silverfish ITTL) is not exciting in this world. They are related to the real silverfish, but not remarkable. Sure, they are considered household pests in that same vein, but aside from being able to actually bite (which is non-lethal) thanks to more powerful mandibles, preference to lay eggs in cracks/gaps and chew harder materials (but not soft stone), the king silverfish is just harmless. They're still fast as the house silverfish too. So I guess they are really boring and not epic like in Minecraft anyway.
cw: bugs, insects
What if there was a "specevo" Minecraft silverfish? Like just a literal silverfish in the real world. Spoilers - its just a bigger silverfish. So what am I supposed to do with it
