At an immediate first glance at his robot mode, I see the character ive always known to be bumblebee. I grew up watching the 86 movie so this line is very important to me, so I cant be objective when it comes to these figures but ill do my best! The figures articulation is WAY better than I would've expected for something so small and for a fairly painless price tag (of course compared to other transformers). The transformation feels nothing simple and intuitive. Ive never once used the instructions for this figure and I very rarely mistransform him. This little guy is a huge ego boost to those who have trouble with more complicated figures (myself included). The car mode works really well for me, the deep, visible lines are extremely obvious but it lends a sort of charm to him. The car mode feels pretty solid, with the exception of the back
panel, but I suppose that could very well be user error. It is now time for a couple gripes...I despise the robot modes back, I wish it tabbed in and actually held in place. I also really dont like the hands but I have high standards for hands. The figure is animation accurate, visually he captures the image of Bumblebee, and is very fun to play with. So now for the rating im going to grade it off of a few metrics: visual (the way the figure looks), articulation (how poseable the figure is), transformation (how much I enjoy transforming the figure), and alt mode (how well the figure pulls off the proposed alt mode). Then I'll conclude with an overall rating. So without further ado:
Visuals - 8/10
Articulation - 7/10
Transformation - 9/10
Alt mode - 7/10. Overall - 8/10
Bumblebee in a battle pose
Bumblebee in his car alt mode.
