Drew Sutro Tower today in SF. We were lucky we had great and clear weather. The drive up there, and surrounding areas, were almost better than being right in front of it! I wanted to show the energy waves that were being absorbed and re-transmitted. #urbansketching up there was a blast!

The Sutro Tower is named for Adolph Sutro, a Gold Rush engineer & mayor of San Francisco in 1894.

His grandson built a mansion on the hill in the 1930s and sold it in 1948 to American Broadcasting Co., for use as the transmitter site for its television station, KGO-TV. #sutro
