What are Open Streets?
Open Streets are recurring programs that temporarily open streets to people a d close them to cars.
Streets become places where people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds can walk, bike, play, socialize, and improve their health. They are an opportunity for people to experience their city streets in a whole new way.
Over 100,000 people participated in 2019, and support for bringing the program back remains extremely strong across the city.
The Open Streets Program supports community health, local businesses, and public space activation.
