REMINDER: Wisconsin has same-day voter registration.
So, if you haven’t registered or recently moved or anything like that, you can register at your polling place (with ID and proof of residence) TODAY.
Every state should do this. It’s great that Wisconsin does this. Go vote.
Good read, makes sense of why things are happening the way they are.
Morning temperatures on Election Day dropped into the single digits, teens, and twenties under calm skies.
The forecast high for Election Day is 30s and 40s statewide.
It’s a chilly Election Day across Wisconsin, with single digits, teens, and 20s statewide. Knight checks in as the cold spot, as usual, with a low of 1.
Highs today are expected to rebound into the 30s and 40s.
Bundle up as you head out to vote and thank your poll workers!
Someone with the handle @velocity69.bsky.social is sharing a video with the caption:
"The highest quality video of the moon was just released…
so beautiful
* Artemis II"
It's gone viral, but it's not from Artemis II. If you've shared it, you might want to un-share.
Needs moar shark.
THREAD.
Substack is evil. I can't emphasise this enough. Their line that anyone can leave easily & take their subscriber list with them is bullshit. I left & it cost me a large sum of money. It forced me briefly back onto Substack to try to clear up the mess... tomcox.substack.com/p/an-explana...
Some discussion on Artemis II broadcast about how dark the Moon is compared to Earth. Here's a really nice look at the two together from the same camera -- the Moon isn't white, it's dark brown www.planetary.org/space-images...
not ai, but also not from the Artemis mission. this is a picture taken in 2015 by DISCOVR. the reason the perspective looks off is because the telescope is very far away (4x farther than the moon) and is using very high magnification. it's the dolly zoom effect
this isnt from Artemis! it's from a telescope at the Earth-Sun L1 point, about a million miles from earth

I knew there was something hinky with that one. Too far away from the moon!
This is like a chess match :-)
#ncaab #championship
Both teams still trying to figure each other out
Wait. What? How far away from the Moon are they, to have both the full dark side of the Moon, and the full face of Earth?
Wow!
Getting dizzy listening to these yahoos complain that Iran is a hotbed of religious fanaticism and then turning right around and acting like religious fanatics themselves.
A round manhole cover with the words: "Westinghouse Electric & Mfg. Co. Alternating System. Grimshaw Insulated Wire White Core."
I suspect this is a remnant of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition and the "Current War." This is on Jackson Park's Wooded Island. It says: "Westinghouse Electric & Mfg. Co. Alternating System. Grimshaw Insulated Wire White Core." #ManholeCoverMonday
Love how they keep improving it!
Then after that, National WW2 museum in NOLA?
One thing ICE keeps proving over and over again is how there must not be any undocumented immigrants who pose any threat whatsoever.
Obviously if there were any such people, ICE would be going after them, not this college student who has been here since she was a toddler and has no criminal record.
Max looking good!

All Good Things. Wow.
Some current parable?
#AllGoodThings (2010)
Stop calling things ecosystems when they're not anything like an ecosystem.
For example, X is not an ecosystem. It's a social media platform owned by a Nazi and now full of fascists and hangers on, like the guy whose screen-captured post just set me off.
Yeah... I think there's three shelves, with at least 15 or 20 containers each on each shelf. Bottom one is all spices Second one up is all baking things Third one up is overflow, cooking stuff, etc.
Uhm...
