You beat Google’s AI on this…I went back to Toppenish National Wildlife Refuge today…found pods on the ground on the east side several feet from the tree…likely where the wind blew them…was so focused on photographing the tree trunk I obviously didn’t notice them…thanks for the observation lesson…

It’s a natural geographical situation that occurs when heavy basalt rock layers shift over a weaker slippery sedimentary layer…started in 2017…movement was as much as a foot a week…now small rocks coming down occasionally…neither I-82 or nearby homes considered threatened…local road at base closed…
