I'm ending today's beautiful spring day with this, #PhotoADay: Day 97 of 365, from this afternoon's dog walk. Sleep well everyone.

Believe me most of us know that. But short of revolution the people's next move is the mid-term election in November. I expect many chicken shit politicians of both parties (mostly Republicans but many Democrats) will be voted out if office.

It's actually Wednesday here now, so I'm cheating a bit, but this was a jewellery box that our nonbinary person made as a present for wifey ❤️

The original is hands down the best!! Empire Strikes back is ok. But the original teaser for Revenge of the Jedi (before it became "Return") would've been a fitting end to the saga.

I usually shoot on manual then use the wheel to change shutter speed and/or iso. Here's a vid. I suggest you experiment with changing these two settings on the same subject in the same light and see how it effects the picture.

Yeah I’ve used photoshop or similar since day one of digital shooting.

I have an iPhone and I use it for wide lenses. It does color balance differently. It also does better at certain macro settings. So both a phone and dslr have their place.

Actually that's pretty artistic. If you shoot raw files you can really go to town editing them and change exposure, WB, etc. Even the jpg can be modified in post to some degree. Based on the depth of field I'd say your f stop is low. Try to make sure it's at 8. Then play with shutter speed and iso.

Possibly not software developers building it but non-technical accounting using basic web tools to slap something together. Also when I was a developer at UCSD there were many 20-30 year employees who had given up on caring.

Isn't "porn, death, and weddings" a Hugh Grant movie 😉🤪.

Another tip is shoot more or less straight down, thus both plates are at the same distance for focal length. You see that in cooking shows all the time.

50mm f2.8 1/100 ISO 1000. Focus on pepper mill.

50mm f8 1/13 ISO 1000. Focus on pepper mill.

50mm f8 1/13 ISO 1000. Focus on pepper mill.

Most data, thus more ability to zoom with no pixelization. So for that picture, ISO 100 f8 focus on the middle point and backup until it's all in focus, or get close and have the other portion out of focus purposely and drop to a lower f stop for that blurred arty effect. 3/3

In general the higher the ISO the less time it needs to get a proper exposure, at the cost of less data, ie more pixelization & less color data. I use 100 for day because that's what I mostly shot in film. Not sure for digital what the optimal ISO is. Ideally shoot lowest ISO, as that gives...2/3

The f stop sets the aperture. The higher the f stop the smaller the aperture and the smaller the aperture the greater depth if field in focus. You can set dial to "AV" that gives aperture priority & the camera adjusts the shutter speed to give you proper exposure. ISO is the "film" speed. 1/3

Two bowls of food with forks and spoons. I put big chunks of 'nduja into the dish but they dissolved in the sauce as I cooked it. You can see the specks of red that were left behind. The chicken wings that were used as garnish are from the chicken that I roasted yesterday. If you enjoy my food posts then please consider at least liking them and maybe reposting them. Thanks.

Chicken, apple, pear, spicy 'nduja salami. Served on Garofalo ruote pasta. Garnished with greek yogurt, chicken wing, toasted sourdough bread (see Alt Txt)
