Love seeing all those paperbacks! And recognize many of course. 🔥
Love Hoople and Hunter, and was kinda shocked when RANT came out in '01 and killed, track after track. With "Mott" ('73) my fave Hunter to this day...
Yeah! From Fassbinder to Tintin. 😎🤘
Ian Hunter summed it up 25 years ago...
"We were morons from the day we were born
We believed every word that you said, boy were we wrong
We're all fat now, on the sofas, mini morons... taking over
Cos we're older now..."
Great song from a great album. #musasky #musicsky #ianhunter
Reminded me of Ian Hunter...
"We were morons - red, white and blue
We were working class kids on the skids - with nothing to do
We're all dead now - in our boxes - holding on to what little we go left
Cos it's over now, over now, over now, over now"
Stacks of books on my shelf, from Hermann Hesse to A.E. van Vogt.

Karen O’Rourke‘s Walking and Mapping, an essential book on artistic reading and practise of writing
This looks WONDERFUL. Thanks for sharing!
Actually, the same here. Doesn't look promising at the moment...
i feel like a lot of people are dissociating and not reacting to the threat of nuclear war with an appropriate level of alarm?

Tarkovski sitting on a couch and reading Heavy Metal magazine
Such a great photo. Andrei Tarkovsky reading Heavy Metal.
(There is a post on reddit where someone writes that the photo comes from a blog by Reid Rosefelt. Unfortunately I can't find that blog)

If you watch this, add in that Iran just hit major Saudi oil facilities (7% of Saudi GDP) and they're on fire. So even if Hormuz opened tomorrow, this will reverberate for years...

Some evidence coming out that major Saudi oil facilities were hit and perhaps badly damaged by Iranian missiles. Really hard to quantify this but we could be looking at a historically significant strike here.
All from a country whose offensive capability was wiped out days ago.
Ohh... this sounds great. And I'm all on board for Stalker-type semi-scifi. Thanks!!
I'll report back. 😎 Low budget tends to bring in loads of creativity!
This looks FANTASTIC! I'll dig out a copy somewhere. 😀
Updated this list on #Letterboxd. Any recommendations for further additions? Smart Low-Budget #sciencefiction #cinema. 🔥 #FilmSky
Good, clear explanation of what the Iran war and closing of the Strait of Hormuz means for our tomorrow. And it doesn't even get into the waves caused by fertilizer, aluminum, helium, etc. Information well worth knowing. #collapse

Something growing
Depluralize a movie:
Alien 👀
And the sprawl trilogy for 20th century? "Case" could be made...
I enjoyed LOST CAUSE but this sounds better. He is unfailingly smart and entertaining, though his articles, nonfiction and commentary may be far more relevant than his... thoughtful entertainments.
Had zero interest in it, and it sounded so awful I didn't watch the movie. So. What SHOULD be the recipient of that title for the best sf this century?
