From The Illustrated American, December 8, 1894. Inside one diamond illustration, two men are photographed with arms linked, one facing forward and one from behind. The man wears a high-buttoned light-colored jacket with a flower on the lapel, and a straw hat with a wide ribbon. In the second illustrated diamond, the reverse image is shown. The man with his back turned previously is now shown from the front with a less dandy hat and no flower but a similar suit. The other man's back is shown. The text reads in full: ANOTHER FEAT IN AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHY. The accompanying illustration will be of interest to those of our readers who are amateur photographers. Finally had a chance to visit Sherard Osborn's grave. He's in a pretty prestigious spot at Highgate. Earlier this week I saw this new to me photo of him, aged 41. [The National Archives] He died at only age 54. He was so much like Fitzjames (Sophia Cracroft agrees with me)! #NavalHistory #19thC

When I purchased my current residence, I had dreams of having get togethers, picnics, dinner parties, and simple social hangings about. Of course, this was exactly at the beginning of Covid and all those plans were dashed. Still, very nice to think of what might have been.
