In our society, there are many gaps where families and communities have sometimes failed to provide the support needed. As Gods people, there is only one faithful response to a gap: we must stand in it. In this special episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we explore how Stand in the Gap Ministries empowers people through healthy relationships, education, and prayer to achieve true self reliance. They follow the wisdom that if you teach a person to fish, you feed them for a lifetime. Stand in the Gap is a ministry on a mission that is constantly expanding and adapting to changing times. They have even partnered with the YouVersion Bible app to provide regular spiritual support to widows regardless of their location. By tuning into Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, you will hear touching personal stories of what it looks like to stand in the gap in everyday life. Amy Lynn shares about the year her neighborhood was buried in snow when she was just twelve years old. By simply picking up a shovel to clear a path for an elderly neighbor and her dogs ramp, a lifelong relationship was formed that eventually led to Amy Lynn becoming her caregiver. It was a blessing that allowed her to learn the history of her area while providing vital help. We also look at the times when others have stood in the gap for us. Amy Lynn recalls the physical, emotional, and mental support her cousin provided after the passing of her father. These moments of grace are what build up the walls of our communities. Drawing from Ezekiel 22:30, we see the urgency of this call: God looks for someone to stand in the gap so the land is not destroyed. In our busy digital lives, it is easy to overlook the needs around us, but we are called to do better and be better for our loved ones, neighbors, and strangers alike.
