A long empty hallway with faux wood flooring. Empty except for the shredded and carefully sprinkled remnants of a composition style journal. The paper is imagined as a snowstorm, a release of all the emotions of a child who feels unloved and abandoned. Once talked down by his nurse and calm, he sweeps it up, with help from his nurse, and throws the pieces away, thereby using his journal in the most effective and appropriate way possible.
When adolescent psych gives you a snow storm, you do your q15 safety checks singing “Do you want to build a snowman” in your head. That kid sure showed his composition book journal what he was feeling. “Let it go…” Good kid. Bad situation.
