Why is Havertz wide open? Because the man marking him is attracted towards Martinelli and wants to close him down.
Doing things quickly, centrally, forces defenders to make quick decisions. Do it often enough and they'll make some bad ones.

Huge result. Fantastic win given Sporting's home form. Martinelli was excellent when he came on, really direct and incisive. Wonderful assist and superb touch and finish from Havertz for the goal. Raya exceptional.

A draw would've been a good result tonight but to steal it late on - beautiful. Sporting are seriously strong at home, they barely lose full stop and that will (hopefully) do us a world of good.

With an assist to Havertz's marker stepping towards Martinelli as the winger beats two men and dribbles towards the box.

Martinelli isn't known for unlocking defences with creative passing but that's brilliant work by the Brazilian. Delicious chip into Havertz's path. That one moment has turned this into an excellent European night, even if the performance has lacked spark.

Martinelli should do that exact same drive inside over and over again. Everyone thinks he will go down the line to dribble. Drive inside, shoot it, or make something happen.

Brilliant second half performance. Martinelli inspired, Rice was his usual insane self and Zubi looked back. Still so much to play for this season.
