One nice thing about the Yashica Samurai X3.0 is the zoom lens that goes up to 75 mm. I can see further down the lagoon than with my other half-frame cameras (I do have a 100 mm lens for the Konica Auto-Reflex, though). Shot on Plus-X […]

First post of a shot taken with the Yashica Samurai X3.0 that a friend sent me. It arrived around noon today. I loaded a short roll of Plus-X and took it to the nearby harbor, where I shot this (and 24 other shots; it’s a half frame camera) […]

Black and white photo of a dark skinned stereotypically attired Mexican man in a sombrero and traditional clothing, with a big smile and a small mustache. He stands in front of a building that proclaims it offers Burritos and Tacos. The name of this restaurant is partially visible as “to Loco” (short for Burrito Loco).

A car trunk from the 1960s serves as a table with a setting of condiments and utensils in its center. The sun illuminates it through a window. There are chairs on either side and a row of stools is visible in the background.

This table at Obi’s Filling Station in St. Augustine Beach intrigues me. Konica Auto-Reflex (in half frame mode), Eastman 5222, Divided D-76 development, then printed as a kallitype and toned in palladium.

A large sign in front of a building says, in letters styled to match a stereotyped representation of Mexico, “South of the Border”. Below that, another sign shows an illustration of an anthropomorphic burrito looking slightly insane, and the word “Burrito Loco Mexican Streetfood” next to it. The building has multicolored stereotypically Mexican lettering spelling out some of its offerings, including Burritos, Taco Bowls, Nachos, and Quesadillas. A much smaller sign under the big sign reads “Available” with details about who to contact to buy this gem.

You too can participate in the exciting adventure of America’s Favorite Dying Racist Tourist Trap, South of the Border. Burrito Loco, one of SotB’s Mexican restaurants, is available. Konica Auto-Reflex (in half-frame mode), Eastman 5222, Divided D-76.

A grainy colour photograph on expired film, showing the façade of what might be a late 1800s or early 1900s office building. The stone building has slightly terrifying stone faces placed between each set of tall, arched windows running along the street-facing façade. The cloudy sky above creates a dull reflection in the windows, somehow matching the mood of the weathered grey stone walls.
For this #FensterFreitag, I somehow found another salvageable half frame on this expired roll. It's grey and cloudy, but so is today.

Black-and-white photograph of a tall and very modern and abstract-looking building. The walls are angular in seemingly random geometric structures, made in part of massive glass windows and some kind of sheet-like cladding. The glass reflects light and views, while the dark sheets absorb them. The sky above is a nondescript, cloudy white.
Something more modern and perhaps ominous for #FensterFreitag the 13th.
