Using four KO mouse lines targeting the different genes associated to #MMAF syndrome in humans and mice, the authors explored head defects in the spermatozoa and their impact on embryonic development.

#MMAF (Multiple morphological abnormalities of the flagellum) syndrome is a complex genetic disorder resulting in complete infertility in affected patients.
In addition to multiple flagella defects, spermatozoa from MMAF patients present various types of head defects.
