The church is empty ahead of the carol service and well illuminated in white lights for now.

The Canterbury mini-ring is the Karearea Bells, in Rangiora but formerly of Twizel.

We've had a busy couple of weeks lately, with practice, Sunday service, a wedding, & a funeral (unrelated). Our busiest night had 15 ringers, and our quietest Sunday had 5.

Slightly delayed start tonight as everyone assumed someone else had keys.... We had 10 ringers, and rang Plain Hunt; Plain Bob, Grandsire, & Stedman Doubles; Plain Bob & Bastow minor; and both Grandsire & Stedman Triples.

Ultimately it was unsuccessful, cancelled about 2 hours 15 mins into it out of concern of the health of the No. 5 ringer (who is since fine).
We rang an 80 of Grandsire Doubles to still recognise VJ Day, and retired for refreshments at the pub.
