Always grateful to our friends when they come to visit. They enabled us to practice lots of G7 tonight for Dick Peters and Richard. We also rang PH7, PB6, Norwich 6 and Cambs 6. Mary Tillinghast Leneis here has returned from illness and injury to ring our 21cwt tenor down #bellringing

Whilton is a rather odd looking church! Working from the left there's the tower, the nave and the chancel. The chancel ridge line is higher and has a steeper roof line than the nave, the chancel is tiled, while the nave is a verdigris copper. The church is of an iron stone, while the tower is rougher and a paler stone. Looks like someones taken 3 entirely disparate parts and stuck them together!
The churchyard is mown neatly and the sky has puffy clouds in front of a blue sky.

The band at Whilton rang a quarter peal in memory of Janet Bowers, a long time ringer and resident of Whilton. She was instrumental in the augmentation of the bells in 1994.

A modern church in light brown brick against a blue sky, just a few puffy white clouds. The church has a tower and about 2/3rds of the way up a set of lighter bands in brick, where the louvres are.
To the left of the tower is the church entrance, with a high canopy over it.
In front is a road and some cones and to the right what appears to be 2 people working, maybe dealing with the bushes that are between the church and the road, they have a green piece of machinery that I can't identify!

Rushden Spire stands out well against the sky in this photo. Taken from the East end of the church, there's a chancel and side chapels, although the end wall is somewhat hidden by bushes and a tree. We can see parts of the large windows in the end wall.
The body is the church is not visible form here, we can see the side aisle sticking out to the left and the west end tower sticking up over the roof line. There are louvres visible, and pinnacles with arched supports to the tall tower. This has 3 sets of lights and carved balls (for want of a better description) running up the ridges.
The sky is blue with white puffy clouds.
The churchyard is green, and there are a lot of bushes and trees about, including some flowers, but the roses are not yet out.

Easter Sunday ringing featured rounds & call changes, little bob, stedman, plain hunt and Grandsire. And managed to escape without being set alight by the brazier, it was quite breezy! #bellringing

What a privilege to call some simple changes on Easter Day, rang some decent PH 7 and then sang in the choir #bellringing

Storm Dave was causing havoc this morning in the touch of Stedman 5 😆 But we got it round. Ably assisted by the rose between two thorns (or vice versa, whichever way you want to look at it 😉) we also rang plenty of PH7 and touches of PB5 and G5 #bellringing

The clocks may have changed, and we may have been ringing half an hour earlier, prior to the Palm Sunday service, but 9 of us made a good noise. 2 lots of Call Changes, some PH7. Sadly the Stedman 5 was like wading through treacle today, but we eventually got a 120 round #bellringing

Are there any other #bellringing #Morris #Minor owners on here? Especially within an hour or so of Oxford?

A good morning combining #classiccars and #bellringing at Alveston. Classic car meet organised by the vicar, who owns a green #Traveller like mine, bacon butties, and a tower grab on the 6. We only rang rounds and call changes, the bells are quite hard going, but it was an unexpected bonus!

Strap in folks, bellringing report incoming. Helen was strapped up, but still expertly trebled so we could ring some Norwich 6, and she rang Stedman 7 beautifully. Other things rung at Blewbury tonight included PB5, PB6 and PB7, Cambs 6, G7, Cloisters 7 and PH8 #bellringing

Very positive practice night, two touches of Bob Doubles on different bells, Grandsire getting slowly better and good rhythm on the Treble to Bob Minor #bellringing

My first Branch Practice in charge as one of the Ringing Masters. 17 of us had a full-on session ringing R&CC a few times, PB5, PH7 a couple of times, an attempt at PH8, PB7, G7, 2 lots of Stedman 7, and some Norwich 6. Just one short for Cambs 8, but I think we all enjoyed ourselves #bellringing

Our practice not on today so four of us decamped to a neighbouring tower who were very welcoming and we all got chances to ring plain Hunt, call changes and Bob Doubles #bellringing

Moved our practice to tonight as event in church tomorrow. Only 6 of us made the effort but it was worth it. Richard got extended support in practicing exercises to help him learn to dodge. We're going to try Funny Bob after Holy Week. Dick Peters also practiced G5 on different bells #bellringing 🔔

The bugs were abundant this evening at Blewbury and may have put folks off a bit. We attempted PB5, PB6, Cambs 6, G7, Stedman 7, Cloisters 7, LB8 and PH8, all with varying levels of success and precision striking 😳 #bellringing

Some experts away and no visitors so we tried Little Bob 6 as well as PB6 for something different tonight. Dick Peters did really well in a touch of G5 too. We also rang St Simons and a couple of fun touches of Stedman 5 #bellringing

An evening picture of St Johns in Peterborough. The tower stands in the middle of the end of the church, there are aisles on each side. There are large arched windows all around. Sky is clear and an evening blue.
