This morning, there must have been over 25 #grackles and #redwingblackbirds in my backyard. They sure are noisy. Yikes!
It’s a sharp contrast to the beautiful songs of the #AmericanRobin yesterday morning.
Soon, I’ll chase them away. As soon as there is a natural food source.

A pair of grackles (large blackbirds with yellow eyes and loud calls) sit on a wire across the street from my house on a grey, overcast morning. Though perhaps fanciful, I can’t shake the feeling that they are discussing whether the human they followed home last night might perhaps be too fatty and high in cholesterol for their flock to consume as their morning snack.
Last night I ate on the patio of a local restaurant where thuggish representatives from the local flock of grackles attempted to extort dinner shares from diners. I declined to share & this morning find these two calling me names from across the street. Coincidence?

This grackle is beautiful in oil slick colors, in fact he wears them better than a real oil slick. Gracks seem to have some of the "presence" and self-awareness a crow has. They definitely have "attitude". 🤪
