a illustrated guide to render in a vibrant style. the text reads:
"universal property:
50-25% opacity line art Layer. The blending mode is vivid light, and the line art color is some variation of a very dark purple, certain colors like white need to layer to be duplicated and set to multiply.
rendering notes, shading is done by filling in the center of a surface and erasing from the bottom of the inner shape, using the airbrush tool. because this doesn't follow the contour of the object like a realistic light source, it takes the guesswork out of figuring out how to do lighting, making it quick and easy. applying a halftone to the airbrushed part lets it stick out more.
rendering notes, continued, highlights are made using a single color on a add/dodge layer. the highlight follows the edge of the object. duplicate this layer, and apply a gaussian blur to it if it looks blown out or de saturated change the opacity or color of the layer until it looks correct."
An illustrated guide on how to render in a textured style. the text reads:
"universal property:
50-25% opacity line art Layer. The blending mode is vivid light, and the line art color is some variation of a very dark purple, certain colors like white need the layer to be duplicated and set to multiply.
NOTE: this method requires a light source.
Rendering notes, An entire layer is set to multiply, and filled with a solid, dark de saturated color. A Clipping Mask is used to apply the shading to the color layer below. Light is then painted in by erasing the Multiply layer, preferably with a more rough textured brush. the layer is then alpha locked and the edge of the shadow is airbrushed with a more saturated, brighter color. experiment with the shading colors you use to fit the lighting of the piece you're working on.
rendering notes continued: the highlight layer is a Add/glow layer using a single color. the stroke should thin out as the highlight travels further on the object, and once it reaches a low thickness use the blur tool to smooth the light. use a dark, saturated color to avoid blowing the image out.
rendering notes continued: bounce light is collected from neighboring colors. with 2 exceptions, those being white and black. Make white lean towards cyan and Black towards purple to keep the image saturated. take the color you have and increase saturation and brightness an extreme amount. on a add/glow layer airbrush the new saturated color into the darkest part of a shape. adjust opacity until it blends well."
ur gonna learn today !! here's TUTORIALS on my 2 shading styles !!! for free !!! under the caveat i made them on small ass canvases so the info is crammed and i'm also not amazing at explaining things
