Thanks to the privilege of air travel, I was able to trade in my snow pants & jacket for t-shirt & shorts. Temps in the mid-teens by the water & filtered sunshine made for a perfect 10k walk around the seawall w/ a stop at English Bay. 🌤️😎

An area of low pressure will move southward from the Gulf of Alaska on Tuesday evening into Wednesday, bringing showers to the coast and additional alpine snow. Winds speeds: Monday: Southwesterly 5-20 km/h. Tuesday: Southwesterly 20 gusting 40 km/h. Wednesday: Southwesterly 20 gusting 60 km/h. Sea to Sky Freezing Levels: Monday: Surface rising to near 1200m Tuesday: 500 rising to near 1500m Wednesday: 700m rising to near 1500m Precipitation: Storm totals of 10-20cm with higher amounts the closer to the coast. Monday: Nil Tuesday: Nil Wednesday: 2-7cm by 4pm.

A graph showing the wind and gust readings in 24hours from March 23-24 ending at around 6PM. The readings are mostly flat until around 2PM on the 24th when it suddenly goes up to over 20kph for wind and 40 to 84kph for gusts.

Surveyed #windstorm damage in #HopeBC & #Coquihalla Canyon from 11th March. Extensive tree blowdowns seem to support the recorded 139km/h (86mph) gust at #YHE, tho asking ECCC. Either way, this was a significant wind event locals won’t soon forget.
