In the end, the #Cleric urges #Superman not to exile himself as he once did - he made the best choice he could to save lives, and must now champion life over death. He gives Superman the #Eradicator so #Krypton can live on, then passes away as a grateful Superman leaves him a final monument.

After some space misadventures, #Superman is captured by #Mongul and forced into gladiator combat. There he meets the #Cleric, who through the #Eradicator shows his guilt - long ago he visited #Krypton and convinced thousands of #Kryptonians to leave their world, never knowing it would kill them.
