Photograph taken in late October in the pine woods at Formby, Red Squirrel Reserve, UK. Sunlight peeps through the pine trees casting shadows on the undulating ground beneath. OK, so not technically a forest but a beautiful wood nonetheless. Managed by the National Trust. Bit light on proper forests nearby but being little, it certainly feels like one 😊
A forest isn't just the spectacular beauty of trees, the oxygen emanating from them and the health benefits of its stillness. It is a whole microcosm of other worlds too.

This grave just had “Brenda -1938” inscribed on it. It usually has a flower on it. Who was Brenda?
