UNC to hire ex-NBA coach Michael Malone as HC, sources say North Carolina intends to hire former longtime NBA coach Michael Malone as the school's next basketball coach, sources told ESPN.

NGL, I really like this hire. I'm very familiar with his game cuz his Nuggets had my Lakers' number in the worst way for the past few seasons. Although he'll have to adjust to the college game, I think his championship pedigree and NBA experience will be great for recruiting. Great hire! #GoHeels
