5/ Renewables are framed largely as grid relief, not replacement for coal. Carbon-management technologies (CCS, hydrogen, offsets, “clean coal”) often appear as future-fix narratives that sustain incumbency. Explicit coal-exit discourse is rare — except briefly around the #JETP announcement.
Alongside @ec.europa.eu and #TeamEurope, we’re backing Vietnam’s energy transition with a joint package of €430m for the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project.
This is the largest #JETP investment to date & will drive the country's decarbonisation goals.

Meeting two good #JETP friends at the #AfricanEnergySummit: the ministers for energy from South Africa Kgosientsho Ramokgopa and from Senegal Birame Solèye Diop. The Just Energy Transition Partnerships are masterpieces of bringing energy for all and pathways to #climate neutrality together.
The UK and the International Partners Group are doubling down on the #JETPs.
Not the worst idea, considering the circumstances, if lessons can be drawn from the rocky start to regain confidence in the format.
