La composition est symétrique : les rails de la voie ferrée constituent une ligne directrice forte qui attire le regard du spectateur vers le pont au loin. Les grands arbres dénudés de part et d'autre encadrent la vue, créant une impression d'intimité. Le ciel occupe la partie supérieure de l'image, offrant un arrière-plan plus clair qui souligne la densité de la végétation.
