The site is what used to be spoil tips for Bold Colliery, and before that, Parr moss. It is now known as 'Colliers Moss'. Brookway Lane is part of 'Cement City', a housing estate built for miners.

Large wooden double doors set into a grand doorway: Corinthian columns, pointed arch, detailed mouldings, etc. The word 'BANK' is engraved ion the stone lintel. Plants are starting to grow from the cracks, and the whole thing is behind a temporary security fence.
Main entrance to the former National Westminster Bank, Hardshaw Street, #StHelens. Built circa 1860, remodelled 1878 & altered inside when converted into a bar in the 1980s. Closed since 2015 and not in the best of health. GII listed.
