A crochet student generously gave me this needlepoint kit after I had commented that I wanted to do some different textile crafts this year
I'm enjoying the differences in the technique & materials to cross-stitch I've done in the past but it's definitely a work in daylight project

My most recent contemporary has an MC taking the 6 train to work in midtown Manhattan on a rainy Monday morning.
This WIP set 140 years before has my MC on an Elevated train heading down Third Avenue to her job at a bookshop on Bleecker Street. #WednesdayWIP

9 completed "rounds" of oval rug. Black inner, grey outer. Cream cotton securing it
It was time to clear out some old t-shirts. Rather than stick them in the rag bag I've turned them into yarn. 🧶
I dug out some cotton DK in my stash so I've started on a rag rug.
No pattern, just working out the increases as I go

Rare earth magnets glued to weak ass fridge magnets.
Test. Metal Legionaries not falling off even at an angle.
Metal cavalry needed two rare Earth magnets to not fall off, but anyone letting my figures hang like this is gonna get thumped anyway.
Don't mind me. I'm just over here, gluing magnets to magnets. As you do.
But now my metal Romans will not fall off the #Midgard bases I made.
